Emphasis was laid on the reuse of the existing concrete channel lining within the waterway, and landscape features such as retaining walls and stepping stones.
The design integrated multiple features in the waterway, such as pools and riffle systems up to larger in-stream sedimentation ponds.
One of the key design drivers was to make the waterway as engaging as possible and to be accessible by the public. A viewing deck enables the observation of various vegetation zones and informal nature play elements.
